When I was struggling to make ends meet in college and my early days of teaching, I photographed a few weddings – mainly for friends. When I took this work, I approached it in a photojournalistic style, following the action of the day from beginning to end. This is Eliza’s wedding, which took place entirely on a midwestern farm. I photographed her and her husband, Michael, as they celebrated with their closest friends and family.
