“Proof: Ruminations on the Everyday” was published in 2004 by Crotalus Publishing. The essays and images in the book reveal the process of making a body of work. The text is, for the most part, derived from journal entries that I made during the creation of Proof as it was conceived for my MFA thesis at the University of Minnesota. Thus, the work has a very Midwestern feel – four seasons come and go, dictating new patterns. The photographs themselves are evidence, or proof, of my own existence; a journal documenting my daily life as a 28 and 29 year-old photographer, husband, son, student, teacher, friend.
