Last week, I had the privilege of a return visit to Penn State. During my first visit last April, I made photographs of faculty and students at campuses in Southeast PA: Harrisburg, Berks, York, and Mont Alto. This time, I worked mainly at their University Park campus but also made photographs at DuBois and Altoona.

It was a full week, with a broad diversity of disciplines represented. I worked with faculty and students in physical therapy, chemistry, business, biology, math, English, computer forensics, engineering, physics, hospitality management, communications, economics, and more. I even made photographs of a tuba ensemble!

Eventually, these photographs will be used in teaching consultations with the participating faculty and exhibited on the campuses.

I was also happy to photograph students, staff, and administrators working in non-classroom locations and situations related to teaching and learning at Penn State: the testing center, Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence, Schreyer Honors College, study groups, undergraduate advising, and tutoring center.

The Penn State system is truly amazing, and its faculty are well supported by the efforts of Angela Linse and the staff at the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence.  I’m already looking forward to going back.
