A new academic year is upon us. Actually, I’m in my fourth week of classes already. How did this happen? I don’t know. I honestly don’t know what happened to most of the summer, the past three weeks, or today for that matter. Luckily my life is ruled by lists and photographs. I can review either and get at least a rough estimate of my accomplishments. Here is part of today’s list:
I still need to get to a couple of things. Maybe tonight after the kids go to bed.
This year, I’m looking forward to continuing the Teaching and Learning Project at a few institutions. The first of which is bound to be the biggest, because it’s in Texas. (I hear everything is bigger there.) In just a couple of weeks, I’ll be making photographs of the amazing service-learning work happening at Texas Tech University. I can’t wait to meet the faculty there, and collaborate with the brilliant staff at the TTU Teaching, Learning, & Professional Development Center.
I’m also looking forward to conducting research on the Teaching and Learning Project and the use of photographs in faculty consultations. More on that very soon. For now, just contemplate this photograph and you’ll get a sense of this new undertaking’s meta-ness.
Happy New Year, y’all!
